"Our lives go on and we endure
But their existence cannot depart
We cherish the memories and recall their presence
As their love lives on within our hearts."

.
How trite our religiosity and politics.
.
This is a sad day for me as I remember so many wonderful days gone by.

If the troops all came home, the demoncrats will just send them out again. We need a third party! Republicrats and Demicans is the same coin, different sides.

.
1866, Waterloo NY, a druggist named Henry C. Welles suggested to veterans organizations that the graves of fallen Civil War soldiers be decorated with flowers 'in memory'. "Decoration Day" sprung from his idea and it was celebrated for the first time on May 5. The Grand Army of the Republic, the Union vets' main support group, spread the idea around the nation - New York officially adopted the holiday in 1873.
