... and everywhere the gospel is given, it is splintered into unrecognizable ritual and nonsense, depending on the illness of the recipient.

My experience has always been, when one on one, or in a group, when the Gospel is given, and the questions addressed, those who have opposed it all along, tend to scratch their head and are unable to overcome the simple declaration of God's simple to understand word. Generally, they would comment and say "wow, I never thought of it like that, and always heard something different"...
Indeed, when a simple conversation takes place, those such as you are easily rejected as not only ignorant and blind to the Gospel, but intentional liars... None are fooled.....
btw... will be in Seattle later today.. whats the odds of us passing on the street? the Lord works in mysterious ways, ya know!.....
Always fun to chat with ya.. HZ....

And, the Gospel is?
.
That which is so often twisted?
You do seem lucky to have folks like me to respond. The whole trouble with most of us is that we don't understand the meaning of life. Or what is in man. Maybe you could comment on this verse that finds almost complete agreement with both Catholics and Protestants.
"Jesus did not trust himself to them, because he knew all men and needed no one to bear witness of man; for he himself knew what was in man." John 2:24,25.

1Cor 15
1 Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. 3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance:
=========================================================
that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
=========================================================
5 and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve.
6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8 and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.

Wait, wait, don't answer. I can't trust myself to you because I know what's in you.
Would that it were so. I rarely quote the bible anymore because it only tends to throw light on the stupidity of most of what I say. Random postings directed at religion merit likeminded efforts. And so more days of bloodless, fleshless substance devoid of a single idea except to call attention to the vulgar with my own form of trickery.

Then why did the Protestants split from the Catholics?
