When I was a child, we sang this song in church.

The singing of this song in the congregation with people looking around and catching each other's eyes put a sense of happy satisfaction in our minds. It was an extremely popular song in Fundamentalist churches during the 1930s and 40s. It's difficult to get an understanding of the strength singing has to raise the consciousness of the individual unless one has been there. The music at the above site doesn't do any justice to the sense one has in a group singing the song. The song leader would get the congregation to hold on to the word, lives, as the emotional build up reached a peak.

I must say that the singing of the song itself built belief in the mind of anyone in the group.

It was all about the REALITY of Jesus.
