I personally don't go down the road of defending the Bible on scientific grounds, since much of it was written allegorically and poetically. Christians get themselves in trouble when they pick some verses that imply a scientifically correct ecosystem, and then ignore others that are poetic - like the "four corners." It's an unnecessary diversion to the real debate.

This thread began as a discussion of the reality of Jesus, and that's where I hang my hat in apologetics discussions - that and the existence of God.
