Sigh. I've asked believers over and over, what 'evidence'?

Historical, archaeological and scientific evidence. Also verses that are scientifical accurate such as Isaiah 40:22 claiming the Earth is round (although some skeptics twist this around claiming it says the Earth is flat), Job 28:25 stating that air has weight, Job 26:7 stating that the Earth floats freely in space (at the time everyone believed it rested on the back of an animal or the Titan Atlas, and Job 40:15-24, which gives a clear description of what appears to a dinosaur, thousands of years before before the first fossils were found. Alos, there are verses like Jeremiah 33:22, Hebrews 11:3, 1 Corinthians 15:41, Job 38:19,20, Ecclesiastes 1:6, Leviticus 17:11, 2 Samuel 22:16, Jonah 2:6, Job 38:16 and Leviticus 15:13. Plus there's the scientific evidence the folks over at Answers in Genesis have provided (I will admit that there are things they have presented that I disagree with but most of the time they are spot on).

But most importantly, there are the personal experiences that are more than enough evidence to convince me.

How can a pure/perfect god (Jesus-IS-God) enter, exist inside, and be nourished by an impure/imperfect human body (Mary)? And then the pure/perfect god spirit exist in Jesus' impure/imperfect human body? Oil and water don't mix. If it's possible that pure and impure can co-exist together in one vessel or place, then (IMO) impure/imperfect Man can enter and exist in pure/perfect Heaven. Is this possible according to Christian doctrine?

Do a search on these topics. Your'e sure to find a site that could explain it better than I could ever.:)

Have you ever researched who the Nephilim were?

Not really, but I've read many books (mostly secular) that talk about them. One of the biggest modern theories is that they were aliens. I disagree though.

Hitler could be in Heaven right now if he repented right after he took his cyanide pill

Isn't suicide a sin? I doubt Hitler is there.

Why did God have to 'work through them'? Why couldn't he have resurrected those people himself - like you say he raised Jesus? Why share his power with mere men - who would then be seen as gods themselves.

To be honest, I don't know and I don't care. If you really want to know, ask God.

I was asking Kim some follow up questions about what HE believes. Have you come to rescue him from ol' trickster Migisi? If so, he doesn't need it.

Doesn't bother me. Brian can answer any question he wishes, regardless of who it's aimed at.:)

In response to Falderow Set Aside posted by EvilChihuahua:

.
Historical, archaeological and scientific evidence.
.
I agree there's evidence that historical events occurred. But the mention of these events in the Bible isn't evidence that a supernatural force orchestrated or influenced those events.
.
Also verses that are scientifical accurate ...
.
Isaiah 40:22 - "It is He who sits [enthroned] above the [vault] circle of the earth..." Yes, originally, the idea (Chaldean and Egyptian) was that the earth was a flat table. If you're interested, here's a good paper on the evolution of the 'vault of heaven' theology: http://cscs.umich.edu/~crshalizi/White/g...
.
...(at the time everyone believed it rested on the back of an animal or the Titan Atlas,
.
Not 'everyone' believed that. Some cultures believed the earth-island floated on a congealed fluid under the lower heaven, and others believed the earth disk was held up by 12 solid pillars.
.
Job 28:25 - "When He imparted weight to the wind And meted out the waters by measure,.." If you look at the preceding verse, it reads - '24 "For He looks to the ends of the earth.." If the Jews believed the earth was a sphere, where would one find 'ends' on a spherical earth? Isaiah 11:12 "... and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth." Where does one find 'corners' on a sphere or circle? The pre-Babylonians believed in a four-cornered earth, and the East-Semites received the idea from their predecessors, the Akkado-Sumarians.
.
Job 26:7 - "He stretches out the north over empty space And hangs the earth on nothing." Ever wonder why he stretched out only the 'north'? According to the Babylonians, the northern half of the earth was called the 'upper' - associated with life and light. The southern half was called the 'under' - associated with darkness and death. The South and the Underworld are identical. Neat, huh?
.
Job 40:15-24, which gives a clear description of what appears to a dinosaur, thousands of years before before the first fossils were found.
.
There were fossils of Behemoth found? The dinosaur theory is from the Young Earth Creationists. The problem with their theory is that the sauropods went extinct 65 million years ago, and fossils indicate they did not have molars to chew grass. In the Jewish myth, Behemoth is a monster of the land - Leviathan the monster of the sea - and Ziz is monster of the sky. The legend has them battling it out at the end of the world, God slays the winner, and men feast on the meat of all three. Before the Jews, the Persians had a similar monster legend - Hadhayosh (Behemoth), Kar (Leviathan), and Simurgh (Ziz).
.
Jeremiah 33:22 - 'As the host of heaven cannot be counted and the sand of the sea cannot be measured, so I will multiply the descendants of David My servant and the Levites who minister to Me.'" What 'evidence' are you presenting here? That the sand and heavenly bodies can't be counted? Okay, I'll go with that. But what does it prove?
.
Hebrews 11:3 "By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible." Yes, the microscope hadn't been invented yet. But the idea that things were made up of smaller parts which couldn't be seen by the naked eye existed ~well~ before Paul.
.
1 Corinthians 15:41 - "There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for star differs from star in glory." Referring to and acknowledging the astrological legends of the times.
.
Job 38:19 "What is the way to the abode of light? And where does darkness reside? 20 Can you take them to their places? Do you know the paths to their dwellings?" Does light and dark have 'abodes', 'places', 'dwellings'? This is scientific evidence that they do?
.
Ecclesiastes 1:6 - "The wind blows to the south and turns to the north; round and round it goes, ever returning on its course." The wind also blows east and west. In a water spout, dust devil, tornado, and hurricane, the wind blows 'round and round' too.
.
Leviticus 17:11 - "For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one's life."
Yes, no blood, no life. Every soldier and livestock farmer knew that. Scientific evidence of what?
.
2 Samuel 22:16 - "The valleys of the sea were exposed and the foundations of the earth laid bare at the rebuke of the LORD, at the blast of breath from his nostrils." Tee hee. Evidence of a big sneeze? Or was it a tsunami, tidal wave, severe drought, or receding tide?
.
Jonah 2:6 "To the roots of the mountains I sank down; the earth beneath barred me in forever. But you brought my life up from the pit, O LORD my God." Scientific evidence of what?
.
Job 38:16 "Have you journeyed to the springs of the sea or walked in the recesses of the deep?" Scientific evidence of what?
.
Leviticus 15:13 " 'When a man is cleansed from his discharge, he is to count off seven days for his ceremonial cleansing; he must wash his clothes and bathe himself with fresh water, and he will be clean." Um, yes, bathing in fresh water and washing clothes will make him clean. But will his discharge be healed in seven days? Lepers weren't cured by this ceremonial cleansing.
.
But most importantly, there are the personal experiences that are more than enough evidence to convince me.
.
Personal experience isn't scientific 'evidence' unless it's been tested and the results are always the same.
.
One of the biggest modern theories is that they [Nephilim] were aliens. I disagree though.
.
I read that too. But hey, why couldn't they be aliens? From the Bible's description, they clearly weren't human or of the earth.
.
Isn't suicide a sin? I doubt Hitler is there.
.
Yes. Pinky corrected me that Hitler was shot. But let's say he took an overdose and couldn't undo it, and then he repented of his sins?
.
I don't know and I don't care. If you really want to know, ask God.
.
You mean you don't care to know why God worked through people rather than do miracles himself and get all the glory - rather than share the credit with Elijah, Elisha, Jesus, etc.? I guess you've stopped questioning.

» Feature Writer Brian Tubbs - Pink's Evidence

In response to Forward March! Uhup, Two, Three,Four,... posted by pink101:

My evidence is the current state of world affairs.

Not good enough. You're saying that the "religionists" have twisted and created a Jesus divorced from the reality of history. You have to be able to show me the authentic, true Jesus so that we can compare. It's NOT GOOD ENOUGH to just ASSUME that the real, historical Jesus was thus-and-so and then ASSUME that modern religionists have created a new one. Where's your evidence?

We are involved in sectarian violence all over the world that is cooked up with Religionist rhetoric.

A broad assertion. True in some cases. Most wars, though, I've found are fought for reasons other than religion - though they are often JUSTIFIED by religious rhetoric.

The Republican Party uses sectarianism to win its elections as they shout the cadence of, "Nine,Eoleven.Three,Four", mixed with a chorus of biblical code words holding the guide-on of Religionism up so the Christian Right can watch their dress and stay in perfect step and line. It's a military type drill.

This is left-wing BS. If the Republican Party is guilty of this, so are the Founding Fathers. They were far more evocative of God, morality, etc. than any Republican presidential candidate today. I'll take the Founders over your secularism ANY DAY OF THE WEEK and twice on Sunday!

Maybe three times on Sunday?

My evidence is what it takes to convince me--that's what I meant.

The only evidence that is going to move you will have to take place in your own mind. And, the results will be up to you--totally.
.
That's no problem for me as long as you don't force me into a position where I have to live under your rules.

In response to Pink's Evidence posted by pink101:

I will never encourage or support the government of the United States forcing people to live under the arbitrary rules of another individual, including myself. And....I would never condone the United States requiring its citizens to be Christians.

However, the United States WAS founded on a set of certain principles that just happen to be informed by Judeo-Christian tenets. Those principles should be respected, including in our laws and BY our citizens.
