Yes and no. I got the point you were making, but (as is evident from our recent conversations) no one changes anyone else's mind without consent--which is where what I said about the dictatorial communication style comes in.

The thing is, though, we are all guilty, at least some of the time, in certain instances, of doing the same thing--and we (as a people) need to be aware of that tendency when we are trying to communicate wiht one another.

No. People are trying to convince us that we must _____. Some people find such arguments very convincing, others don't--and those who don't have a duty to speak out.
