» Feature Writer Brian Tubbs - Patience & Prayer

Hey everyone,

I'm out of town in Missouri for a pastor's conference and I don't have consistent Internet access. Hence, my absence of late in these forums. It'll probably be sporadic for me the next couple days.

MORE IMPORTANTLY...a grave tragedy has hit a family that's close to my wife's sister. A fire destroyed the home of this family, killed the husband, and horribly burned his 2-year old boy. The mother and other kids escaped with minor injuries. This is a horrific situation, in that the child has over 65% of his body scorched with third degree burns.

PLEASE pray for this family, esp this precious boy. His name is Ethan.

I'll probably be heading out to see the family and my in-laws on my way back from this conference. I hope to visit with the mother and the boy.

Thank you.

Instead of asking that we pray to a God who has failed in his duty to watch over Ethan, why not tell those with extra financial resources how to help upgrade his care or pay some of his families expenses?

I have a hunch that there is someone here who has just come into some money and would like to donate resources to help.

Jesus did not tell me that; it's just good old fashioned common sense to know that human beings are always there to help in a crisis.

» pink101 - No Man

.
"Now, this bell tolling softly for another, says to me: Thou must die."
.
For Whom The Bell Tolls
.
"Who casts not up his eye to the sun when it rises? but who takes off his eye from a comet when that breaks out? Who bends not his ear to any bell which upon any occasion rings? but who can remove it from that bell which is passing a piece of himself out of this world? No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main.
.
"If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were: any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee."

» Feature Writer Brian Tubbs - Update

They are removing life support from baby Ethan. There are only two organs in his little body that are operating on their own w/o artificial support - his liver and kidneys. Everything else has failed. The mother still wanted to keep him alive, but apparently, this morning, they detected no brain activity. He's already gone, except for the heartbeat which is being artificially maintained.

Please keep that family in your thoughts and prayers.
