Well, I guess I am going to jump in on Oliver's side on this one. I think it matters greatly and certainly he does. I am just wondering how a person who takes Evolution seriously and follows the idea to some extent that mankind created a god and some supposed godly rules. How could any of us be benefited by the idea that such a god had an image of some sort of distinction? Maybe you can think of some good that could come of it. I think to the 'modern' person, the idea of 'image of a god,' is putting them at some risk to an idea of duty and destiny to act a certain way rather than to promote the survival of the race and of the fittest in putting into action the new culture that leaves such religions far behind.

Isn't that what Migisi was trying to say to Brian in one of those threads that we kinda left behind? I could be wrong about this. It seems like she and Oliver are saying that religion is too risky a business to invest in any way in the idea that 'image of a god,' is worth something.

So therefore, I am kinda back to the idea of what to do on planet Mars since we have a whole clean landscape to deal with without this idea of 'image of a god.' I have written before that Isaac Aminov believed that new cultures on future planets would not need churches or jails because of the evolution of our thinking.

It doesn't make any difference If I believe it or not. What counts is what the greater society teaches.

I can't really do it.

I guess I could try for your benefit to consider that if the Christian culture did not exist then probably there would go God with the neighborhood. It is a package deal for you and maybe some others. You say He is everything all bricked up down at the church and He is that guy wreaking havoc in the Old Testament that Ollie likes to bring forward. He has put a lot of Himself into the culture, that seems to be evident. And I guess there are some who might say that He has put Himself sort of out on a limb these past few days in these dialogues. He has done some of that we think, I guess. And we say that because we either think we invented gods or we somehow believe that He is inhabiting every rose petal and every conversation. And if we just stop all this god talk and god culture, then we will be able to get on with it, as Ollie and Migisi suggest that we do.

Maybe we could avoid argumentation if we simply presume for a day or a week that the world was not made by any intelligent power and then we could proceed to the cash register and try to pay for the idea. But I guess you won't try to think about that.

Have you ever seen the 3 Stooges in Spanish? It is pretty funny. I'm sorta like the Moe character in real life who is trying to do something funny in another language that I never learned....

It does seem very hard to argue with your logic. Especially when I think of you and your presentation. lol.

It is your absolute truth and you must stick to it at all costs. If there were some hint or vapor in the air of an intelligence behind what we see and think about when we consider the Eternal, then your stuff goes up in flames.

On an eternal scale, the entire universe "goes up in flames" at some point or another, if we are to believe the Larrys (scientists).

Today, I'm extremely flexible, Brother Jones. Its 70 degrees outside and the sun is shining (and even though I'm stuck inside working, I'm enjoying it).

Being an oldtimer for the Lord even sounds like fun! (That's the Curley in me. Sorry if I show my Moe side too often for your taste.)
