Prayer isn't about asking God for anything you want - for whatever motive you want - and then claiming it by faith. .... But that's NOT what the Bible teaches.

Sure, the Bible teaches this. Jesus said ...

Matthew 21:22 - "If you believe, YOU WILL RECEIVE WHATEVER YOU ASK FOR in prayer." ('Whatever' includes world peace, an end to war, and a big-screen TV.)

Mark 11:24 - "Therefore I tell you, WHATEVER you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."
(There's that 'whatever' again.)

Matthew 7:7 - "ASK AND IT WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you."

Matthew 7:8 and Luke 11:10 - "For EVERYONE WHO ASKS RECEIVES; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened." (Note 'everyone'. Not just Christians?)

Matthew 7:11 - "If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven GIVE GOOD GIFTS TO THOSE WHO ASK HIM!" (Jesus' Father gives good gifts too.)

Matthew 18:19 - "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about ANYTHING you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. (Get your wife to agree to the big screen TV.)

Luke 11:9 (and repeated in Lk 11:10) - "So I say to you: ASK AND IT WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you."

John 14:13 - "And I will do WHATEVER you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father."

John 14:14 - "You may ask me for ANYTHING in my name, and I will do it."

John 15:7 - "If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask WHATEVER you wish, and it will be given you."

John 15:16 - "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit-fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you WHATEVER you ask in my name." (Weren't you chosen, Bri?)

John 16:23 - "In that day you will no longer ask me anything. I tell you the truth, my Father will give you WHATEVER you ask in my name."

John 16:24 - "Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. ASK [for anything] AND YOU WILL RECEIVE, and your joy will be complete.

Don't you believe the Bible? Don't you believe Jesus said these things?
