» pink101 - What's Yours?

.
Anyone who takes the time to sit back and figure out what's going on here sees that each of us seems to come here with their own agaenda.
.
What's yours?
.
We seem to be in a rut from which there is no escape.
.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this or is it just my imagination?
.
Huh?
.

I have come to the Protestantism site to Protest.

The main evil that requires a good pop in the nose is the primitive idea that bloody human sacrifice can bring anyone any benefit.

Beliefs like that lead to tactics like utterly destroying bad people's children because a voice in someone's head said to do so.

There is precedent for this tactic, after all, in the most popular so-called holy book in vogue today.

My agenda is to stand against that tactic and that book. How about you?

Matthew Parris says it better:

"Oh boy, am I sure.

Oh great quivering mountains of pious mumbo-jumbo, am I sure.

Oh fathomless oceans of sanctified babble, am I sure.

Words cannot express my confidence in the answer to the question whether God cured a nun because she wrote a Pope's name down.

He didn't.

Mere language does no justice to my certainty about whether God might be waiting for the return to their Biblical lands of the Israelites, before arranging the Second Coming.

He isn't.

Shout it from the rooftops.

Write it on walls.

Carve it into rock.

He didn't.

He isn't.

He won't."

Here's something that may help you reason and learn:

Is 'agenda' the actual task or only the manner of the tasks towards some less publicly obvious program? Just teasin' you about your confessed prediliction to tease in the manner you're more comfortable with but which with I am still coming to grips. ABC

To answer the question: Yaws is a tropical disease**. (Sorry...tis an oldie response to the evergreen "What's yours?") **I usually added: But I'll have a middy o' new.

Maybe tis 'hidden agendas' you seek as my purpose is manifest within my posts:

"A set of unstated individual goals that may conflict with the goals of the group as a whole."

My point was that we seem to be in a rut from which there is no escape.
.
And, that seems obvious to me.

Regardless of any hidden agendas or arcane language.
.
I think that is, in fact, the rut that is doing us in.

Life is a rut...then we die? 'Arcane' language aside, the escape button is well within your grasp here. I guess none of us are walking at the same pace with the same expectations of 'life' within suite101. I got confused over your use of the word 'agenda'. Me bad. happy
