"I remember that discussion and Rainbow too. Rainbow's long unbroken posts were indeed difficult to read and follow. But you stuck to it. When did you learn Polish?

Twas Polish-English I referred to. happy Like spoken by my former Polish neighbours. From very early on, I developed a skill to read doctors' handwriting. Later, I developed the patience to understand the mangled English written and spoken where English was not the first language. These are transferrable skills.

Rainbow taught me that the use of English can be more confusing, that some effort is needed to engage in topics she found more interesting than I. So I further increased researching the broader range of subjects online beyond my comfort zone.

And I already knew the greater world extended way beyond the USA but her Polish experiences while completing her doctorate helped me not take my own country for granted.

I am 'undisciplined' in where the questions here take me. A pastime I never had the time for whilst working...too much disciplined research. And if at times you guys don't seem to remember there are at least 3 sides to every coin, my dag slips in. happy

Kinda reminds me of a Cabinet Minister I knew who penned the 'shades of grey' principle into very problematic specific law here maybe 30 years ago. 'Black and white' made laws so much easier to make if not comply with. Harder to argue with a shade of grey. But then, the law introduced 'discretion' to ameliorate this.

Just because there is no shade of grey in a rainbow, doesn't mean she's not a pretty colour.
