Do workers have the right to get legislation that is favorable to their income potential?

Socialism is an economic system more favorable to ordinary people whereas Capitalism is an economic system more favorable to the monied classes. As such, Socialism represents ordinary people and Capitalism represents the super rich. On this basis, I have to favor Socialism. Why shouldn't ordinary people enjoy the better things in life as well as the wealthy? I have to deal with questions like this.
