» Migisi - Whole lotta raising going on

.
Other men besides Jesus raised people from the dead. Check the close similarities in these three stories.
.
1 Kings 17:20 - "He [Elijah] then took him from her bosom, carried him up to the loft where he was staying, and laid him on his bed. Then he prayed, "O God, my God, why have you brought this terrible thing on this widow who has opened her home to me? Why have you killed her son?" 21-23 Three times he stretched himself out full-length on the boy, praying with all his might, "God, my God, put breath back into this boy's body!" God listened to Elijah's prayer and put breath back into his body-he was alive! Elijah picked the boy up, carried him downstairs from the loft, and gave him to his mother. "Here's your son," said Elijah, "alive!"
.
2 Kings 4:32 - "When Elisha reached the house, there was the boy lying dead on his couch. 33 He went in, shut the door on the two of them and prayed to the LORD. 34 Then he got on the bed and lay upon the boy, mouth to mouth, eyes to eyes, hands to hands. As he stretched himself out upon him, the boy's body grew warm. 35 Elisha turned away and walked back and forth in the room and then got on the bed and stretched out upon him once more. The boy sneezed seven times and opened his eyes. 36 Elisha summoned Gehazi and said, "Call the Shunammite." And he did. When she came, he said, "Take your son."
.
Acts 20:8 - "There were many lamps in the upstairs room where we were meeting. 9Seated in a window was a young man named Eutychus, who was sinking into a deep sleep as Paul talked on and on. When he was sound asleep, he fell to the ground from the third story and was picked up dead. 10Paul went down, threw himself on the young man and put his arms around him. "Don't be alarmed," he said. "He's alive!"
.
---------------
.
Acts 9:40 - "Peter sent them all out of the room; then he got down on his knees and prayed. Turning toward the dead woman, he said, "Tabitha, get up." She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up."
.
Note Peter didn't lay on the woman. That wouldn't have been acceptable. Like Paul, notice that Peter didn't need to invoke Jesus' name in order to raise the dead.
.
--------------
.
Even touching dead BONES can raise the dead.
.
2 Kings 13:21 - "Once while some Israelites were burying a man, suddenly they saw a band of raiders; so they threw the man's body into Elisha's tomb. When the body touched Elisha's bones, the man came to life and stood up on his feet."
.
---------------------
.
Sometimes, the miracle worker doesn't even need to be alive and present:
.
Matthew 27:51 - At that moment [of Jesus' death] the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split. 52The tombs broke open and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. 53They came out of the tombs, and after Jesus' resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many people."
.
Wonder what these holy people did for three days before Jesus rose from the dead?
.
-------------------
.
Despite Elijah's reputation for miracles, including raising the dead, James said... "Elijah was a man just like us... " (Jm 5:17) Hmm... Really!? Well, that would mean that Elisha, Paul, Peter, and Jesus were just like Elijah... "a man just like us".
.
-------------------
.
Hosea 6:2 "After two days he will revive us;
on the third day he will restore us,
that we may live in his presence."
.
Hosea says God will revive and restore us ~on the third day~. What a coincidence, ay?
.
--------------------------
.
And here's the million dollar question...
.
John 11:25-26 - Jesus said to her [Martha], "I am the resurrection, and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?"
.
Do you believe this? Here we have Lazarus, Tabitha, three boys, a corpse that touched bones, and many holy people who were resurrected and lived. Why aren't they also the resurrection and the life?
