» Feature Writer Brian Tubbs - Resurrection then?

In response to Let's clarify posted by pink101:

My position is that there is no solid evidence that Jesus was dead for three days and that he arose from the dead.

So, you are not dismissing the historical value of the New Testament. You are limiting your critique to the resurrection. Is that correct?
All of our evidence is hearsay.

Not so. Of course, you may be saying that ALL ancient writings are "hearsay." I think quite a few historians would raise their eyebrows at that.

None of it is corroborated by any recognized source other than the Bible.

Weasel words here. happy What do you consider a "recognized source"? That's pretty loaded - and you know it. And the word "none" is also rather suspicious. Quite a few facts surrounding the crucifixion and the resurrection accounts are corroborated by nonbiblical sources.

The only possible basis on which a person can base their belief in the resurrection is faith.

If you rephrased to "A person's belief in the resurrection as presented in the Bible ultimately comes down to faith," I would agree with you. To say, however, that the "only possible basis" is "faith" is too extreme a statement. Sorry. Won't fly. Too many people have approached the historicity of Jesus with skepticism and come away as converts for you or anyone to intelligently say that it's "only" about "faith."
