» paper_turtle - I don't get it

In response to I don't get it posted by pink101:

Emotions do not necessarily *follow* thought. Sometimes emotions occur before thought. Take the fight or flight reaction. You react to a stimulus (a perceived threat) with no thought about the validity of the threat. You just react.
.
Thought can override emotion, and emotion can override thought.
.
Further, what I feel through my (one's) emotions may or may not be led by any kind of logic. I've never met a frog I didn't love. It that rational? happy
.
However, in the context here, I was making a distinction between an approach thich is all or mostly in the head--rules and regulations, prescribed behaviors and rituals. I was making a case for what is learned through experience, through emotional relationship (as opposed to passive, disinterested observation).
