- Sperm doesn't count
Medically speaking, the male gamete--the sperm--carries all of the life of the male progenitor.
Pink, how many doctors and scientists argue that human life begins before conception? Stop beating up a strawman here. That's all you're doing.
I am NOT in favor of legislating birth control. I AM in favor of protecting human life AFTER conception! If you're going to debate me, debate my position - don't talk about Onan.

- Public opinion on restrictions
Migisi,
Put to a vote, I believe abortion would be made illegal in the third trimester, illegal in most cases in the second trimester, and pretty much fully legal in the first trimester. I also believe that procedures such as "partial-birth abortion" would be illegal. And that some states would pass "informed consent" and 24-hour waiting period type laws.

Here in Vermont the anti-abortion movement also campaigned actively for banning the "morning after" pill, and has advocated (but not actively campaigned for) doing away with contraceptive pills.

How about we should teach our youngsters that having sex is their choice?
.
As you might know, sex isn't always a choice. Some people, young and old, are coerced, intimidated, or forced. How one deals with having no choice, however, IS a choice.
.
Then, would we to teach them how to make responsible choices?
.
I started teaching my kids about their bodies around the age of 7. We looked at books. I drew pictures and explained how things worked. Just as matter-of-factly and naturally as I taught them how a plant grows from a seed and how maggots become flies. It was important to me to start early so they'd know when touching was appropriate and when it wasn't. By the time they received sex education in school, my kids already knew the course.
.
If some would have their way, there'd be no remedy for making a bad choice --- forgetting or ignoring the fact that we ALL make bad choices about a lot of things from time to time.
