I have a question about prayer, Jones. Scriptures say that Jesus prayed many times. Since there is only ONE God, and if Jesus and God are ONE God, was Jesus praying to himself? Does God pray?
.
Just curious.

Well you like trick questions as well as I do. Here is one for you. What did you think was the story when you were a Christian? What did the Catholics teach you about this scenario?

It reads: 2+2=5...
We are blown away...
"Do these people actually believe that?" we ask ourselves...
"Surely not!" I ponder...
...We try and explain all day that 2+2 doe NOT =5... it DOES =4
They reject our claim and go on their way...
But we leave in hopelessness and can't help but wonder that this is the basis for how they live their lives everyday...

.
Indeed, I wonder how Christians can believe in Trinity mathematics: 1+1+1 equals 1.

Well, Jones, they did what many Christians so often do when asked a tricky question. They ignored it and changed the subject.

Good one, Migisi!

No doubt: Jesus-As-Written did not think he was the LORD GOD.

Otherwise, even as a fictional character, he would not be able to live with himself and would seek a quick, violent death.

Oh, wait....

In response to Having Fun With The Old Coot? posted by pink101:

Face it.

I don't mind trying to answer the question, Pinky. It is very odd that she would ask me. I don't share all of the same views of a lot of Trinitarians. But no matter what I might say, she would do better to ask you the question or perhaps ask it of a liberal Christian here. It would be better coming from a person that she feels cares about her spiritual life.

In response to Respect For Progressives posted by Brother_Jones:
.
What issues are important to you? Apparently not life, death, resurrection of Jesus Christ, and the Second Coming? Or whether Jesus is God. Not worth your time anyway.
.
Then what would be a battle issue for you?

.
.
What is an issue to me:
.
Who is hungry
.
Who is naked
.
Who is homeless
.
Who is in prison
.
Who is alone and friendless
.
Who is in despair
.
Who is in physical pain
.
Who is being tortured, exploited, discriminated against, abused, neglected, hated, abandoned, or otherwise mistreated
.
Where is there poverty
.
Where is there injustice
.
Where is there war
.
Where is there ignorance
.
Where is there fear
.
Where is there oppression
.
AND, most important of all:
.
what can I do about it, today, to make a difference
.
for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.'
"Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?' And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.' (Matthew 25:35-40, NKJV)

» Brother_Jones - Issues

In response to Issues posted by paper_turtle:

Good answer. But we really don't have to set Jesus' own words against His other words.

Matthew 28:16-20

Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
