You're mixed up, Bud.
.
The problem you're pointing out is the result of intellectuals thinking things out. You can catch that television production on Mormons at the PBS site on the 'Net. Altogether, it's a four hour program; but, it is broken down into various "acts" so you don't have to watch the whole thing at once.
.
In particular, on last night's showing, the idea of intellectualism was dealt with. The Mormon church deals most fervently against intellectuals--they excommunicate them for their efforts of thinking things out that the church holds to be absolute truth. They take away their salvation and their rights to enter the temple. They cut their family line so that they are disinherited and blotted out from all connection to their physical relatives. It is a devastating threat to anyone who is a true believer. You have, quite often, acted as a judge here telling me that I am disinherited of my righteousness and that I am not a follower of Jesus and that I do not have any salvation rights; but, that I am--have you used the word--apostate. Intellectuals lead non-thinkers astray and church leaders don't like that as it destroys the unity of the membership.
.
I am an intellectual--I spend a lot of time in my head thinking things out using such things as the scientific method and logic. Churched people like you feel that people like me threaten the weaker minded among the faithful.
.
That, my friend, is what you so obviously do not like about me. You harp on it quite a bit. But, you don't call it intellectualism; instead, you call it liberalism. What!?! Are you afraid of the truth?

Perhaps we have invoked her presence.

She is one of the ones who got upset with the new management of Suite101.com when it made the latest major changes.

I think she has popped up a few times--especially if her name is mentioned. I think she has a site of her own. I'll bet Wendell might have some info on her. They were an item here for a while, you know.

There are lots of Faiths that you can select and feel comfortable in that don't teach that Jesus is Lord or that He came into the world to save you. Why would you want to join or or belong to the Christian belief or Mormon belief? Other than your usual mode of being an agitator troublemaker?

Heh heh heh.
.
My relationship with God is not mediated by any denomination or hierarchy as yours seems to be.
.
I can interact with people of almost any belief and I can discuss the issue involved with equanimity. My experience is that I often run into people like you who are so dead set against any open and honest inquiry that they cannot contain their fears that their foundations are going to be washed away. Actually, if you give it any serious thought, the idea that a foundation might be washed away is a good sign in and of itself. Building your house on sand has never been a good idea, RC--never.
.
What have you to fear?
.
Open the gates. Let it happen. What is it you fear?
.
Maybe you could try to trash liberalism a little less?
.
The chances are you wouldn't be where you are if it weren't for liberals.

Normally, I just fear bad communication. Especially when two people start ticking away at each other like we are doing. Get back on track and stay with a subject or topic today and we will both benefit. The idea that you have to prove in some way that I am less than you is a gopher trail. I'm not going to spend this day like yesterday.

I'll let you go on to somebody else on that quest.

Like I said, I have no problems with whatever takes place.
.
But, be prepared for more of the same if you make one of your foolish comments about liberals or liberalism again.
.
You might gain a little respect for Progressives. Get a decent history book. Read it with an open mind not cluttered with your religious ideology.

Good advice, thank you.

My only real point was to draw attention yesterday to the idea that certain liberals no longer view heaven as an opportunity to worship Jesus Christ. They no longer believe or teach that having a personal relationship with Christ is valuable here or there. So maybe I've clarified for you. I hope so.

Good luck in your future ventures here.

According to the Bible.

Jesus died on the cross.
.
Was resurrected and ascended into Heaven to be with God.
.
Where in the Bible is it written that persons are able to have a personal relationship with Christ?
