Nope. That would take all the fun out of the afterlife, if there is one. I'm only real when I'm surprised. I've been a Christian, Buddhist, Muslin, Atheist, and a Hare Krsna. Who knows what will be on my mind when I die? (or in my heart, although I don't reckon that the heart thinks - it just goes per-plop-per-plop if you're lucky...)
The greatest joy is that this brain or, for that matter, any brain reading this will never know. Is there a spirit that lives on? I ask everyone who thinks there is one from each person to postulate that there may be MANY from each human life. Why not? What will you do with all your souls? I say give them away, if possible, and if they will do anyone any good.

At least two other peers died during that time as a result of automobile accidents.
My mate was killed in a car accident. His friend, who was driving, was speeding and was high at the time (according to the autopsy). They went sideways around a corner at 160 mph and hit a truck. My mate lost his arm, broke his neck and had his brain smash against his skull. If he had of survived, he would have hated living. The sad thing is he got engaged that morning. I remember seeing it all over the news and not thinking much about, then his brother phoned a few minutes later to tell me what happened.
I know who's fault it was, but playing the blame game is just pointless. I can blame my mate for hanging out with the wrong crowd, I can blame the driver for driving while stoned, I can blame the innocent truck driver (like my mates's family) for being on the road at the time and for for being unable to avoid the accident. Hell, I can even blame God for taking him (who was still legally a child), but I won't because (the way I see it) playing the blame game is nothing more than one's attempt to feel better about the situation and putting the burdon of guilt on someone else. Instead, I've chosen to accept what happened as reality.

So, therefore, you pray to make yourself feel good,
Can you explain exactly how it makes me feel good to pray for people I have never met? Your logic is really screwed up you really think I am doing it for myself.
As a christian, Cho probably asked for forgiveness before blowing his head off and thought he would spend eternity with Jesus. And no christian can make a judgment on this, lest they be judged! This is why I am sticking to protesting christianity here. In a political chat room, I would protest easy access to guns.
Well, not meaning to be judgemental here, but was Cho really a Christian? Did he know Jesus Christ as his personal savoir? Obviously not, since his actions proved he was in no way a Christian. By his actions he denied Jesus, and even if he did ask for forgiveness, he took the coward's way out.
You say this is why you are protesting Christianity here. Are you really going to stoop as low as to stereotype all nut-jobs as Christians?
Wouldn't it better at this point to ignore this ghost-like god and comfort the child in your neighborhood who has access to guns and perceives himself as being persecuted? Try to get him to relate to a similar circumstance in your life. You could be a life saver.
Glad to see you care about my neighbor's. As far as I know, I'm the only person in the neighborhood who owns a gun. Fortunately, it doesn't work. Plus, it's impossible to find ammo for it, so I am more likely to deny God saying "Oliver was right" than to go around shooting my neighbors.
The idea of God is not a joke. It is a hoax. Many hoaxes have positive effects but on the whole I'd say we are better off without them.
Are we better off without your hoax about God? Well, I can't really say your idea of God is hoax, and you can't say mine is either, as this is just a matter of opinion, not a matter of fact.

Amen.
Was Cho a Christian? He railed against his hedonistic classmates and claimed to be a martyr like Jesus in his video manifesto, so I think we can assume that HE thought he was not only a Christian but a Warrior for God.
Performing horrific deeds for the LORD GOD used to be considered a noble thing by True Believers in Jesus, the Jesus who was one with the LORD GOD who advised his followers to murder children.
I'm glad I live in an age when those deeds are universally condemned as horrific, and the True Believers be damned.
Yes, Cho's belief system, in my opinion, was hollow. It's as if it was made of straw.

"...condemning this outrage..."
Brian? By the time I got to read your post, others supervened and the dynamic changed for me.
We can play with conundrums or is that conundra, about God...for what tit-for-tat benefit? From a distance (to the dispute) is it even remotely possible that Cho was ever accepted as a Christian by any mainstream denomination or is Evil Chihuaha's later post correct that Cho can't be Christian due to his actions and "cowardly" way out? Actions that objectively may be psychotic ie where Cho had no insight.
There is a rough style to 'Head in the Clouds' that I take the effort to read around. Same with Evil. Same as I've done for others here in the past.
Fine weather sailing brings all warm fuzzy feelings about how grand life is and God is. Even when people get killed in a far off land like the USA, kids still sing in Sunday Schools here and are comforted at simplistic levels.
It's not an outrageous concept for me to link those who "fall by the wayside" with Christianity. I'm thinking Christianity's view of mental illness tho' is ambiguous and can be offensive here. But I'm irreverent so what would I know.
Is Christianity accountable for the actions of any one member or does the buck stop with the boss, the Big Fella? Are all Christians sparrows or are all sparrows, Christian...to steal a phrase? IF HZC is saying Cho must be a Christian because he is a mass murderer or he must be a Christian because he is mentally ill, then that contradicts his posts in general...as I read them.
"Job 38:1-3:
1 Then the LORD answered Job out of the storm. He said:
2 "Who is this that darkens my counsel with words without knowledge?
3 Brace yourself like a man;
I will question you,
and you shall answer me."
Given all that Christianity seems to represent and that all are accepted as sinful etc, it shouldn't be outrageous or offensive to link Cho with Christianity. But like the verses above, maybe ours is not to ask why, ours is but to do AND die.
But you are the moderator here and the master of your moderation.
