Wow! Right downtown Burlington with the church right at the end of the mall.
.
Makes me want to visit. I'm going to have to start seriously working on it with my wife.

No fear of snow then.

Acutally, it has snowed in Vermont just about every month of the year, but it is extremely rare, and most often it melts away in hours.
.
Back in my late teens a boy friend and I got stranded in a snowstorm Smugglers Notch (Mount Mansfield, near Stowe) on the 4th of July.
.
The foliage will be better in September, though.

.
So you were snugglers at the smugglers?
.
That is the reason God gives us those odd snowstorms from time to time.
.
One day in the early 1960s I was driving down a highway in the middle of Michigan's lower penninsula. It was July and a nice warm day. All of a suddy, about an inch of snow dumped on the landscape faster than the warm earth and pavement would melt it. The flakes must have been an inch and a half across and an eigth of an inch thick. And, within a few minutes is was all melted away. The sun shone through the whole thing.
.
Go figger.

» pink101 - The Green Mountain State

.
Too bad we don't have the general forum here anymore. We could have a thread all about Vermont.
.
There's a lot to say about the Green Mountain State. One of my ancestors was a border guard between the US and Canada. Vermont must have been infested with smugglers and their job was to keep smugglers from crossing the border. There was an occasion when gunfire broke out and--lucky for me--my ancestor made it through the fight; but, his partner was shot dead. If it had been the other way around, I wouldn't be. I carry the life he passed down. So, the life I enjoy branches out from a hundred years or more in Vermont.
.
The life we enjoy is a convergence of many branches all coming together in each one of us. We have soooooooo much for which to give thanks.
