» _Boanerges_ - Jesus tomb film scholars backtrack
Several prominent scholars who were interviewed in a bitterly contested documentary that suggests that Jesus and his family members were buried in a nondescript ancient Jerusalem burial cave have now revised their conclusions, including the statistician who claimed that the odds were 600:1 in favor of the tomb being the family burial cave of Jesus of Nazareth, a new study on the fallout from the popular documentary shows.-- posted by _Boanerges_

This Jesus tomb 'discovery' kinda reminds me of the claim about discovering Noah's ark. Do you think the ark claim was bogus too?

- Noah's Ark
I've always found it incredibly unlikely that wood from Noah's Ark could have been preserved all those thousands of years to today.
Of course, Migisi, don't be so quick to mock the Noah's Ark account itself. The big debate now is whether the Flood was localized or globalized. Just about everybody - and I mean EVERYBODY - agrees that there was a catastrophic ancient flood.

In response to Noah's Ark posted by BrianTubbs:"...God gathered the animals and brought them to Noah inside the ark two by two..." probably entails some poetic licence. It implies a miracle so profound among surely superstitous people when hairy nosed wombats and elephants made their appearance.
The spectre of a man-eating rabbit is not a scary one.

I don't discount that at all. I'm sure that happened. There have ALWAYS been catastrophic floods on the earth. Heck, think New Orleans. I lived through two Mississippi River major floods and a few 500-year rainstorms. From my vantage point, it did appear that water covered the whole earth. (wink)

Could've been preserved intact under layers of silt - petrofied as COAL? Or preserved frozen?

You're into science now. I don't usually play on that side of my brain. :-) I'm a liberal arts guy.
