"We get stuck sometimes thinking about how God is going to work all this out and the timing of sending Jesus into the world to save us moderns."

I suspect the sticking point for some are the attempts to have passages within the Bible, with or without the best context, make more sense. There is a little "truism" that if something doesn't make sense, it's not true. I don't expect the Bible to be prescriptive. But then, God creates 'evil' seems a pretty global stand-alone declaration.

If there is any prescriptive content, maybe it rests with a definition of 'evil' and what punishment awaits evildoers. "Us moderns" may seriously question the monopoly of a creator of peace and evil for ALL, having fundamental conflicts of interest...unless it was ever intended that peace and evil happily co-exist...for all. But then, the unresolved issue lies within the Bible or its readers, not God.

"premarital sex was wrong because it might lead to dancing"

God gave me two left feet for a reason I guess ie dancing was never going to be a realistic option. happy

PS: 20 posts have came and gone since I was last here. After Paper Turtle's comments, who knows when next I visit. The age of 60 rapidly approaches and cancer surgery to my nose and a skin graft awaits me tomorrow.
