I had that bringing up as well. And, believe me, it wasn't a joke. It was a deadly serious fear.

I never learned to dance until I was 30 years old.

My father was a great role model for being loyal no matter what.
.
I do not know a better father in that sense.
.
Heh heh. I called my wife a "girl" just yesterday; but, quickly corrected myself. She is a woman and a lady.

If my memory serves me, it was Migisi who last pictured a broken, defeated, passive, torn up personality who reflected godliness in response to Christians who aren't very happy with Pacifism.
.
I did what? Serve ~my~ memory and refresh it, will ya?

Jones has a reputation of reading a lot into other participant's identities and of what it is they believe and say. He makes a lot of mistakes in that area. Sometimes he's right on. Texans are known for their exaggerations.

The Titanic versions I heard have a deck hand or the captain (Edward John Smith) saying "Yes Lady, God himself could not sink this ship." Also heard the reason the ship sunk was because it had never been 'christened'.
.
I'm a Lennon fan. In a March 1966 interview with Maureen Cleaver for the London Evening Standard, John Lennon said:
"Christianity will go. It will vanish and shrink.... I don't know what will go first, rock 'n' roll or Christianity. We're more popular than Jesus now. Jesus was all right, but his disciples were thick and ordinary. It's them twisting it that ruins it for me."
.
Lennon was murdered by Chapman in Dec. 1980... 14 years after that interview. Who was Chapman? At 16, he was born-again, handed out bible tracts, worked at the YMCA as summer camp counselor, played guitar in churches and Christian coffee shops. He attended Covenant College, a strict Presbyterian university, but dropped out. He was hospitalized for mental illness after he attempted suicide. Doctors diagnosed him as delusional and psychotic. Chapman admitted he was angered over Lennon's 'more popular than Jesus' remark, and Lennon's 'Imagine' song.
.
What of this: how have some God-fearing, faithful, loving Christians died? YIKES.
.
I was thinking the same. How many of his faithful flock did God kill when he sank the Titanic to punish somebody for making a reassuring remark? How silly.
.

Indeed.
.
I couldn't help thinking about an uncle of mine:
regular church-goer, elder in his church, honest as the day is long, loving, kind, thoughtful, generous, loved end respected by all who knew him. He got skin cancer, and suffered horribly before finally, thankfully, dying, at the age of 60. At his death his face was disfigured. He couldn't eat solid foods. He couldn't walk, couldn't talk. He was in pain 24/7.
.
If I believed in the ogre God, I would say he was being punished for something which must have happened long before I was born. But I don't believe in the ogre God.
.
I don't believe in the God of punishment at all, actually. We make our own heaven, or our own hell, right here on earth, in our own life time.
.
peace and love,
Paper Turtle
