» siminspain - Does God give as good as he gets?
This article by Laurie Pawlick-Kienlan is a clever piece. It gives a stereotype who has an idea of a vindictive God and requires a denial.
It reminds me of questions the pharisees asked of Jesus in order to trap him. One answer would please the crowd but condemn Jesus, the other would mean he would deny what he taught.
The God I worship is a God of love and mercy, but also a God of holiness and justice. He gives everyone the chance to repent and receive forgiveness through faith in Jesus Christ.
But he will punish all those who are not forgiven for eternity in hell.
These "case-studies" are fascinating, but impossible to explain. What I can say is that if they were not forgiven, they will be in hell, not just for their comments, but for all the other sins in their lives.
We all deserve God's punishment. The amazing thing is, in his mercy and justice he sent his beloved son, who never sinned, the only person who didn't deserve to die. He died and received the punishment for sin, so that God can be just and forgive.
There was no other way. There is no other way!
Let's not judge John Lennon, let's look at our own hearts.

No, you're not missing anything.
That's exactly right. It's amazing that the Father was willing to do it, and so was the Son willing to have it done. Now thats love!!!!!

Pink, I think you know better - I think you know the reasoning behind God sacrificing Christ to pay for our sins. I think you're stirring it up, man. (good on ya! ;-) )

What of this: how have some God-fearing, faithful, loving Christians died? YIKES.
