You write, "I am not socialist and don't ever want to be. " Okay, that's fine. By the way, what is a socialist? According to the rest of the paragraph in which you make that statement, it appears you think a socialist government regulates everything and you say that it is the citizens who should regulate the government. Do you understand what you are saying? According to your statement, if the people want universal health care, then they can regulate the government to make sure it is provided. That's a socialist concept, Stephen.

Okay, do you know the answer? It's easy and it's simple. Our government is for sale to the highest bidders. Capitalism is buying our government piece by piece. Have you heard that the government guaranteed Loan business is being purchased by private capital? Have you heard about lobby groups? Have you heard that the military is being replace by professional mercenaries? Do you know how much money is being funneled into the hands of private military groups in Iraq--groups like Blackwater? Have you heard that the government wants to privatize Social Security? Have you heard that the government has created a insurance program that insures profits to prescription drug providers? Have you heard that the government has enacted economic colonization by way of its so-called Free Trade agreements? Do you understand that products you purchase are produced by slave labor in order to undercut American workers?
