For some, I think there comes a point after a long life when death is okay and even desired. Suffering aside, when everyone you knew and loved is dead and buried, there's a strong desire to join them in the afterlife (if you believe in it).
I agree, Mig... I think its okie to say, to admit, that "everlasting" on Earth, as we are now, is not acceptable. It would, in effect, become a hell on earth...
this is one reason why I believe the Gospel message...

I am sick and tired of anti-liberal rhetoric being spun out by people of low intelligence who have--somehow--learned to used words with more than two syllables.
I guess you are targeting me with these statements. Is there some reason to call attention to my low intelligence? I never tried to convince anyone that I was particularly smart.
Please answer this one question for me, Brother Jones: "Does the idea of learning about the history of the struggle between conservativism and progressive thinking sound exciting to you?"
I'm not sure how to answer the question. I'm limited as I have already admitted in the above response. Are you being hardnosed just for the purpose of demonstrating that you are a smarter person?

What an absolute joker you are. Start out with an insulting remark to my intelligence, then ask a serious question. Then come back with the appearance of being insulted yourself for a non-answer.
Look, I do that myself sometimes. But hopefully, I'm man enough to admit a mistake from time to time in these debates. I'm beginning to wonder about you and whether it might be time for you to go somepace else other than a religious area to strutt your insulting stuff about any and all Christian belief.

So you take my words out of context and then assume your folks understand because it is good day to focus on me as a pretty worthless Christian. Tomorrow it will be Brian, or maybe back to Wendell. Good job, Migisi. Your a big help here.
Any ideas about how you want to spend your first hour in heaven?

In response to Have You Figured It Out, Yet? posted by Migisi:
I knew God, and had a relationship with God, before I "officially" became a Christian by joining the Methodist church at the age of 17 (1962). I don't remember a time when God was *not* a part of my life.
.
In grade school I began reading the Bible. I read about other religions. I read about people like Albert Schweitzer and Gandhi.
.
I became a serious student of the Bible in 1970--and still continued to study other religions (Native American, Australian Aboriginal, Buddhism, Taoism, and the mystics of Judaism and Catholicism).
.
I haven't stopped studying or being actively involved. I don't intend to, ever. I was a "liberal" as a child, and still am, and always will be.
.
peace and love,
Paper Turtle
