It is the mark of liberalism that we question authority.
.
Jesus was a liberal and he put it to authority.
.
They killed him for it.
.
What should liberals expect today at the hands of conservativism?
.
Taking our mind off why Jesus was crucified and putting on pie in the sky only obfuscates the issue of the ages. Who is the enemy?

Questioning authority--my parents told me, from the time I was quite young: think for yourself; do what you think is right, and don't worry about what other people will think (my dad used to say, "Follow your own way and watch, because eventually many will follow you." happy
.
Who is the enemy?
.
I dislike the enemy mentality. It sets up a mental framework which greatly hinders constructive action (IMHO). The enemy mentality implies we *must* assume adversarial positions. But this position means we will shout at each other rather than speaking peacefully. We will speak from anger rather than seeking understanding.
.
Who is the enemy?
.
Fear. The ego. The need to be right. Judgmentalism. Prejudice. All things we can change, starting with ourselves.
.
peace and love,

You seem to hate liberalism with a passion.

I've been in church for a long time and I've seen the results of divorce, rebellion, and the turning away from Christ going on among the far left. Surely I should cushion my statements by always refering to the far somebody whether liberal or conservative. But you and others are not always very really interested in whether I am fair or practical minded. Any Christian becomes a target except those who will deny Him on a daily basis by claiming some sort of world religious view. Jesus came into this world to redeem us from our own personal view and our own inclination to follow our own heart desire. He called me early in life to be an Evangelist. I am going to share with you what I believe is the truth about Jesus as long as I am here. I expect to be a target. And I expect that I will be wrong sometimes about some folk. Maybe it would help you and some of the others to focus on somebody else for the rest of this day.

i am just an oldtimer for the Lord.

Ah, the persecution complex. Shades of early day Mormons. That's how they knew they were being righteous. You too?
.
You have been given something to consider, Brother Jones. Your persona. How you deal with these things will be entirely up to you. But, whatever your choice, it is on your conscience.

Your Christian worth isn't ~my~ focus or concern, it's yours - always.

Any ideas about how you want to spend your first hour in heaven?

I don't remember how long I had been a consecrated Christian before I came to the realization about the meaning of the Serpent being able to enter that Holy of Holies, the Garden of Eden. But, there he was, the Old Nick himself, in the center of the garden convincing the mother of all humanity that God was different than she had thought. It dawned on me that the man in the pulpit could--possibly--be an agent of evil right there in the church I was attending.
.
Since then, I think I've seen a lot of the Old Nick masquerading as some Mr. Goodbar or other. Have you seen him lately?

Once again, you argue that YOU have the real answer as to why Jesus was crucified - and you accuse "religionists" of "obfuscating" the issue.

I think we should let JESUS tell us why he was crucified. How about that?

Here is what I had written, "Taking our mind off why Jesus was crucified and putting [it] on pie in the sky only obfuscates the issue of the ages. Who is the enemy?"
.
I think we should let JESUS tell us why he was crucified. How about that?
.
Go ahead. Tell us what Jesus said was the reason for his crucifixion.
.
By the way, where did I agrue that I knew the real reason Jesus was crucified? And, what was the reason I gave?
.
Even so, I think the subject is an issue more than worthy of discussion.
.
I am just getting over a terrible cold and I'm going outside in this beautiful weather. I'll read your answers later.
.
Thank you.
