» Feature Writer Brenda Lane - Split in the denomination

We have family who are members of the Episcopal church. Coming from a perspective of leaving another protestant denomination due to similar reasons, we are sympathetic to the members who are leaving, yet our family is very upset about the split. 7 Churches near us in Northern VA have recently left the Episcopal denomination. A very compelling editorial was in today's Wash Post - written by Os Guiness and pastor of the church.

What do you all think?

This has been building for a long time. I'm frankly surprised that these churches haven't split before now. The modern Episcopal Church hardly resembles its 18th century forebear.

Sad but true. I think that there are many denominations that could see the same issues in the next years.

Also interesting that the more conservative churches are growing and the liberal churches are declining in membership.

Believers want to get back to the Truth.

Have you read "A Time for Truth" by Os Guiness - great read happy

I failed to answer your question. I haven't read "A Time for Truth." I'll have to add that to my list of books to read. It's only about 50 books or so. :-)
