I have been wondering what I should counsel my friends about Saddam's timely hanging this week. And also a bit curious about how you might post on the subject. If the historical records are somewhat accurate, then a few taunts may have been unstoppable from those who felt priviledged to see the end of him. It seems unchristian to applaud a person's total demise and I guess if the Kurds were allowed to organize and plan the funeral, they would have added fireworks and a good ole fashion southern barbeque dance. I think if I had been the last minister to speak with him, I would have suggested some sort of prayer to ask God to take into account that Saddam was at somewhat of a disadvantage being raised in such an uncivilized, brutal area of the world, where men seem to demand their teachers be open to and conversant about the dark art of mockery and torture. -- posted by Brother_Jones » pink101 - New Thread In response to New Thread posted by Brother_Jones:. There's a time for everything. . The wicked dictator is dead. I don't know that he was undone for the proper reasons. In other words, I don't know that justice was done. How can we learn from the events surrounding his life? . That's all I have to say about him. -- posted by pink101 » _Boanerges_ - saddam In response to New Thread posted by Brother_Jones:He now knows that Allah does not exist. Well, time, space, and eternity may be more complex than that. lol. We can speculate the liberals are turning over in their graves because the modern variety most often refuses to study their history or compare their Presidents. They chase each other for more Yahoo brevity about the latest on their enemy, Bush. I have been spending quite a bit of time listening to Tony Campolo who appears to be a reasonable liberal and makes the attempt to interpret history with some sort of fair and balance. He doesn't demonize his enemies. And he appears to be reading more than the Cliff Notes. I don't much like him, but I respect him. i am just an oldtimer for the Lord. -- posted by Brother_Jones » _Boanerges_ - saddam In response to saddam posted by Brother_Jones:Well, time, space, and eternity may be more complex than that. lol. true.... however... God's word says: its appointed to man once to die, then the judgment... I believe that to be true... -- posted by _Boanerges_ » Brother_Jones - Be Careful There, Brother In response to Be Careful There, Brother posted by pink101:Be careful there, brother, as you allow yourself to be exposed to the beguiling of the leftist Compolo. Yes, I am aware of the siren sound of most liberal talk. It is compounded by the notion that most have abandoned Jesus and only trot Him out when it suits their particular diatribe. But Tony appears to be much different than that. He still holds to atonement and the grace of God. I guess that is what makes him very interesting to me. It might be a trap set just for you. The old Nick plays hardball, you know. I assume that the above is simply sarcasm since you and others lack any belief in Satan. How am I doing so far in avoiding the traps of men who deny the supernatural world? i am just an oldtimer for the Lord. -- posted by Brother_Jones » Brother_Jones - saddam In response to saddam posted by _Boanerges_:
No christian would argue that point, imo. i am just an oldtimer for the Lord. -- posted by Brother_Jones » _Boanerges_ - saddam In response to saddam posted by Brother_Jones:No christian would argue that point, imo agreed..... They one thing we cannot do in heaven? Preach to the lost.... that is reserved for this day.... So.. Saddam, Hitler, et el... is the reason Christ came and died.. To give life to the dead...... not to make bad men good...... that job is reserved for the morality and ethics psychologist's... the human saviors of guilt..... walking dead people with no hope.... -- posted by _Boanerges_ » pink101 - No Sarcasm In response to Be Careful There, Brother posted by Brother_Jones:. Have you been diagnosed as paranoid? . :) . -- posted by pink101 « Previous 1 2 3 4 Next » Please follow the guidelines set forth in the Suite101 Posting Etiquette when adding to the discussion. |
