I'm finding it very difficult to focus on much else other than tomorrow's elections, Wendell. I've been concentrating all my brain power on researching my candidates and local and national issues. I'm not avoiding. It's just that right now, discussions here seem unimportant.

» Feature Writer Brian Tubbs - Conspiracy Theories

These conspiracy theories are interesting and all, but....

Can we maybe talk about Protestantism?

That IS the purpose of this particular corner of the Suite.

I'm just askin'. :-)

Heh heh heh.

I like you, Brian. You are expressing a certain amount of courage coming here, outside your circle, and discussing important issues with which we are faced on a daily basis. I hope you continue to come here. I think you are deluded; but, I'm sure you think that I'm the one who is deluded. Even so, we are able to interact. That's an important thing in life--learning how to get along with others.
.
You have children, right?
.
Protestantism is an important milestone in the history of religious freedoms. It is within its framework that we have learned how to question even our own beliefs.
.
As far as Wendell's response you your email? He's a complete egoist; so, don't take it personal. He cannot help himself. Do you know the word, cathexion or cathection? He is cathected on himself and he doesn't have the faintest idea of how to break it. heh heh heh.

This is an interesting site from which I'm quoting, "Martin Luther, esteemed as the father of Protestantism, was thrown out of the Catholic Church, mainly for his condemnation of the papal authority. But he took these Catholic doctrines and made them the basic doctrines of Protestant Christianity."
.
You're probably referring to Samhain which was a Druid holiday.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/95_Theses

Luther is said to have posted the 95 Theses on the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany, on October 31st, 1517. Some scholars have questioned the accuracy of this account, noting that no contemporaneous evidence exists for it.[3] Others have countered that no such evidence is necessary, because this action was the customary way of advertising an event on a university campus of Luther's day.[4] Church doors functioned very much as bulletin boards function on a twenty-first century college campus. Still others suggest the posting may well have happened sometime in November 1517. Most agree that, at the very least, Luther mailed the theses to the Archbishop of Mainz, the pope, friends and other universities on that date.[5] Regardless, the Theses were soon printed and had been widely read in Europe by 1518. (Fire destroyed the doors of the Castle Church in 1760.)
