Ellen Kreidman, a cancer survivor and relationships expert, says that ten seconds a day can revolutionize your love life and perhaps even save your marriage.
I'm currently reading her 1998 bestseller The Ten-Second Kiss. Obviously, as a husband, I should regularly invest in improving my marriage. No husband (or wife) should let themselves become complacent, even if things are going great. Marriage takes work.
And as a pastor, I am always on the lookout for resources I can recommend to couples I may counsel. I'm a believer in Dr. Ellen! Every couple that I counsel, from this point forward, will be told to get a copy of this book - and read it!
Dr. Ellen's underlying philosophy can probably be summed up in two statements:
And what about that kiss?
Dr. Ellen explains: "You can create love every day by acting in a loving way and not worrying about whether you are feeling loving!"
So, make a decision to kiss your wife or husband for ten seconds EVERY DAY - even if you don't feel like it. After a while, says Dr. Ellen, you will.
