Tens of millions of Christians each Sunday stream into their local churches, but few do anything to serve the Lord OUTSIDE of their church building.

Each Sunday, tens of millions of people head to their church building to sing and worship the Lord - and learn from the Bible what God has in store for them. Nothing wrong with that, but too few of us take the love of Christ OUTSIDE of our church buildings and/or personal "Comfort Zones." One megachurch in Chicago, Illinois aims to do something about that.

“Church has become a football game that's never played. Imagine the frustration fans would feel if their favorite football team suits up for the game, goes into the huddle, gives the pre-game interview but never steps on the field to actually play,” said Salem's pastor in a statement. "Well that's the current routine of today's church. Members pack the pews, sing worship songs but never go into the streets to help the people God called on us to take care of such as the homeless, the sick, the hungry and the lonely."
