Jimmy Carter, one of the most popular ex-Presidents in American history, writes about Christianity and Fundamentalism.


James Earl Carter, Jr. came to the White House in 1977 openly talking of his Christian faith. In the years since his presidency, he has not stopped doing so. Nevertheless, Carter is frequently at odds with fellow Christians who hold a literal, fundamentalist interpretation of the Bible.
