Americans are constantly searching for emotional balance and stability. Here are some tips to help you achieve both.

Are you looking to achieve more confidence and stability in your life? If so, here are some quick tips to help you on the road of achieving both:

1. Fuel (or re-fuel) your Faith

You need to make sure your life is built on a solid foundation - one greater than yourself. Are you an accident of evolution or a created being made in the image of God? Your answer to that question will say a lot about your self-worth.

Frankly, the existence of God is rather obvious. So, look for ways to fuel your faith - and increase your belief in God. This should include books to read when in doubt, and also a review of the evidence for belief in God.

2. Discipline Your Mind

Don't let your thoughts control you. YOU need to control your thoughts. Don't let your feelings guide you. YOU need to guide your feelings.

In a previous Suite101 article, I talked about Dallas Willard's advice on living like Jesus. One of the key ways to guarantee that your life has purpose and peace - two qualities that exemplified Jesus Christ - is to discipline your mind and body.

3. Focus on Others

Don't be self-centered. Be others-centered. The more you help others, the greater legacy you will lead and the better you will feel about yourself.
