Real adoration of the Holy Ghost puts God in control, serves as protection during trials and draws believers towards the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Considering all the good things that the Holy Spirit brings to one’s life—God’s love, especially—it is not hard to find love in one’s heart for the Holy Ghost. Such love results in protection during trials, greater control on God’s part and closer proximity to the Father and Son as well.

Love of the Holy Spirit Puts Him in Control

People tend to be controlled by the things that they love, for better or for worse. An intense love for skiing will cause one to spend their time, effort and money out on the slopes. A love for dessert can determine the kinds of food one consumes at home.

When one loves the Holy Spirit, they allow God to control their life. The more adoration given the Holy Ghost, the more one’s thoughts and actions match God’s intent. (One might still sin during this period, of course.) This does not only improve one’s Christian lifestyle, however; it also keeps them from obsessing or focusing on lesser things.

Loving the Holy Ghost Keeps Believers Safe

When adversity and temptation arrives, strong love for the Holy Spirit can help one endure even the worst trials.

When one loves the Holy Ghost, they place God above whatever brings temptation, be it a diamond necklace or a desire for revenge. Thus, that person can think or say to the object of temptation: “I love the Holy Spirit more, and I know the Holy Spirit loves me.” Such a thought can give one new strength regarding the trial facing them.

Love for the Holy Ghost also brings trust in Him, which is vital when one’s faith is tested. If one remembers that the Holy Spirit is always with and within them in times of trial, and that the Almighty God will keep them safe when temptation arises, they will be protected and kept close to the Lord—and the Holy Spirit will remain in control.

Love of the Holy Spirit Brings Us Closer to God

God’s gift of free will gives humans the power of choice in their lives, but such an ability often leads believers away from the God they worship. When one loves the Holy Spirit, though, they will find themselves coming closer to the Lord—not just out of obligation, but willingly.

Given all the things that the Bible’s authors (and Jesus) have to say about God and Christian living, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed or confused. When one makes their love for the Father, Son and Holy Spirit the central part of their life, everything else should come naturally.
