We thank you our heavenly Father for bringing us to the start of this new day. It’s a day you have provided and one in which we can afresh experience your love. In each small thing we do today: -
Help us to remember that you are there, always wanting to reach out to us with your loving arms.
For any difficult things we need to do today, or this week, we remember the New Testament words in Philippians, "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me." We need that strength from you, – our God, our rock and our redeemer.
Thank you that you do give us the strength and the guidance to live through the hard things, and to make decisions that are not easy. For those among us who have to make decisions about the directions in our lives, we ask that you would strengthen us.
For those who are sick, or recovering from hospital or illness, we ask for your healing. Renew, refresh and surround us in your love. Now, in a moment of silence we bring to mind those who need God’s special healing touch.
Father you have said we are precious in your eyes and you love us and that whatever we go through you will be with us. We thank you now for your loving healing presence.
As the words of St John say, “Let us love one another for love is from God.” Enable us as individuals, as a Church, and as a society to love one another: -
We ask that you would guide those in power so that their goals would be towards loving action.
For all those searching spiritually and all of us who have an inner longing for something more, help us to remember that Jesus is our help for today, our hope for tomorrow and the provider of life giving water that springs in us, welling up to eternal life.
As people do search for life we pray that the Church would be able to communicate that Christ does give living water.
For all those seeking to bring positive change we think of the old prayer, “That you would grant us the serenity to accept things we cannot change. The courage to change things we can and the wisdom to know the difference. Be with us all in our work, our service and our relationship’s. May we live out the Spirit’s fruits of love joy and peace. Amen
